jubuJust had a small breakfast with a couple of slices of bread with low-fat cheese and some fruit salad, topped with a HUGE cup of tea that I'm still drinking. In the weeks between touring I try my best to eat a bit lighter, because on the road you usually eat what you can get, which mostly ends up being some random pizza or some food from a gas station. Almost never anything healthy.
I'm leaving for Kemijärvi tonight. It's in Lapland, which is the northern part of Finland. Last time we toured there we were regularly amazed how good the food was and how every small town had their own little specialties for hungry traveler to eat. We'll see what Kemijärvi has to offer! Next week I'll be touring with Carin and we haven't been on the road together before. Sure, we know each other pretty well from before, but it is a different thing to work so closely with somebody for a week in a row. I'm sure it will be fun!
Before I leave, I'll do a thorough clean-up put all non-dry food items into the cooler. I have an infestation of fruit flies in my kitchen and now THEY MUST DIE! So, in addition to the starvation, I'll be setting up some trap bowls, that should lure the fuckers into an early watery death. Bowls will have liquid that will consist of 1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar and few drops of dishwasher. The idea is that the flies will find the vinegar irresistible and land on it, but since the dishwasher destroys water's surface tension, they just get sucked in. Genius! Operation Vinegar Death is on the way!
